Edria (“Eddie”) Byler went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2024.
Born on October 15, 1936 in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Antes and Helen Elizabeth Ford Antes.
She graduated from Kennett Square High School in 1954. She was remembered for being a “whiz around the athletic field”. She went on to study Nursing at Chester County Hospital where she met Dr. Arthur Byler, whom she married in 1956.
Edria was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting. She loved to paint Christmas scenes on windows and delve into different techniques and mediums. She also enjoyed all types of needlework and enjoyed making things for other people. She loved the ocean. She loved to laugh and always had a joke or two to share. She faced life’s challenges head on. She took life “one day at a time”. Later on in life, she became an avid reader and enjoyed reading her Bible every morning. She kept up with current events.
Mom loved her caregivers at Hickory House which she considered “home”. And now she has moved on to her last and final home, safe in the arms of Jesus.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Rose Byler Landes (Charles) of Rockingham, VA, Barbara Jane Byler of Manheim, PA, Donna Lee Byler Dunlap (Earl) of Coatesville, PA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Antes, Charles Antes Jr., Earl Antes, Ernest Antes and sisters Helen Miller and Irene Copeland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 9:30 AM with a time of visitation from 8:45 AM until the service at The Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home in Coatesville, PA. Interment will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery in Downingtown, PA.
